BERTHOLD GRAHL

Born 1943 in Plauen.
After Berthold Grahl´s training as a cattle breeder with high school degree, he began a five-year study which was completed as a graduated teacher of mathematics and physics. He remained faithful to his paintings through the whole time.
In 1969 he began teaching in Höckendorf and was employed as an astronomy teacher and art educator. After the school closed in Höckendorf he was transferred to the adjacent Ruppendorf teaching ethics classes too.
Since 1971 Berthold Grahl is married. His further promotion as a painter he owes John Zepnick, now residing in Reichstädt, whom Berthold Grahl first got to know in a teacher training in Dresden-Wachwitz and in whose courses he participated. Since then, the nude painting in addition to the landscape was an important artistic theme that he works in many painting and drawing techniques.
